We are suggesting that incoming mail be
placed in zip locked poly bags at the loading dock and/or irradiated
at the main postal facility prior to delivery to the customer's
loading dock. This zip locked bag of mail should be taken directly
to the sorting room and placed on the Laminar Flow Table
Top Reverse Flow Bench unit herein proposed for biohazard air cleaning.
The mail presently arrives in the building mail rooms in bulk with
a rubber band in trays. Frequently, these trays are returned to
the post office at the end of the day with outgoing mail. If these
trays are cross contaminated when the mail arrives in them, there
would be protection to the sorter if the mail arrives bagged from
the post office. Some locations, while sorting, if a piece of mail
looks suspicious, it is poly bagged in a zip lock bag until dealt
with in some fashion so as to contain any concern.
What we want to accomplish is that any exposure to incoming postal
mail should receive it in a sealed fashion until the mail can be
sorted under the Laminar Flow Table Top Reverse Flow Bench
unit. The air is drawn away from the employee and any biohazard
is contained in the filtration of the unit. The mail trays should
be verified clean to avoid cross contamination exposure.
The proposed Laminar Flow Table Top Reverse Flow units for
the Mail Sorting Room are portable and can be moved to any area
as needed. We recommend a comfortable sized table to allow a healthy
amount of work space. The table work area is 36" wide x 30"
high. A Plexiglass shield will be attached to the front that will
allow a 12" opening at the bottom so mail sorters can insert
their hands into the space. This shield will be hinged to allow
opening and closing. They can be hinged up for more work comfort
space. These units are shipped ready to use and set up right on
your table top.
